RIC-RIT shows standard optimism

Monday, 16 December 2019

Optimism and a sense of urgency to standardise best practices in the reman industry were evident in this year’s programme at the RIC-RIT World Remanufacturing Conference, organised by the Remanufacturing Industries Council (RIC) and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Fresh off his work establishing common language and standard definitions for reman at the United Nations, Dr. Nabil Nasr, director of the RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability, looked forward to the introduction of RIC’s three new certification levels based on the ANSI standard established in 2017 (Rematec News August/September). Industry leaders at the conference seemed excited and relieved that they would finally be able to educate end users on why reman is a differentiator from other processes that make up the circular economy.
