BorgWarner adds to remanufacturing team
- September 20, 2015
With effect from October 1st BorgWarner has named Ian Buxcey, one of Europe’s experienced reman executives, to the position of Senior Manager, Global, Remanufacturing, in the company’s Turbo Systems business unit.
In his new job, Ian Buxcey, until now head of Meritors’ European Reman operations, is tasked with strengthening BorgWarner’s remanufactured turbocharger business world-wide.
Buxcey comes to the job after five years as head of Meritor’s reman business in Europe, which covers the TruckTechnik unit in Liege, Belgium and Redditch in the UK. Earlier in his career, he has worked for Lucas, Magneti Marelli and Denso as well as UK core dealer Premier Components.
"The challenge of leading the implementation of the global remanufacturing strategy, is something to which I’m looking forward immensely," Ian Buxcey said. "BorgWarner is the leading global turbo supplier and the opportunity for doing more with remanufacturing within such a global player as BorgWarner, was too much to refuse."
The appointment reflects BorgWarner’s increasing focus on remanufacturing as the company seeks to extend its global aftermarket presence. Currently BorgWarner operates remanufacturing sites in the US, Germany, Brazil and China and the company believes that, over time, it will be able to substantially increase its current output of around 100,000 heavy duty and passenger car remanufactured units per year.
