Rematec 2015: An innovative event for an innovative industry
- June 23, 2015
The largest ever in its 15 year existence, the latest Rematec remanufacturing show once again proved its pivotal role in the automotive and heavy duty remanufacturing industries’ ongoing development.
Held from June 14 to June 16 at the RAI exhibition centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, ReMaTec2015 attracted 240 exhibitors and 3,500 visitors from 250 countries. At the time of writing, the organisers report that over 50 per cent of the 2015 exhibitors have rebooked for the next show in Amsterdam in 2017.
Concurrent with the show, the event included the fourth World Remanufacturing Summit and the Academic ICoR 2015 - the International Conference on Remanufacturing and several important side events, seminars and lectures, including a well visited presentation from Dutch sustainable specialist, Circular Economy.
An innovative feature, the InnovationLab, allowed several companies to display their most recent developments within equipment, components and processes.
"We’re confident that the show is continuing on the right track," said organiser Niels Klarenbeek of Amsterdam RAI. "Particularly notable was the attendance of so many Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) from the automotive industry such as BMW AG, Volkswagen AG, Volvo and PSA Peugeot Citroën as well as the Scania Group from the heavy duty sector. In non-road mobile machinery the show welcomed noted names like Caterpillar Inc and John Deere Inc. "
"It’s clear that the industry recognises the need for a major international meeting point such as ReMaTec and we’re now preparing for the American version Big R/ReMaTec USA in Las Vegas in November. The results from Amsterdam strongly indicate that our second US show will be even bigger and better than in 2014."
