USA remanufacturing trade show Big R/ReMaTecUSA moves to Paris Hotel
- July 04, 2016
October 2016 will see the third edition of remanufacturing trade show Big R/ReMaTecUSA. Jointly organized by APRA North America and ReMaTec show organizer RAI Amsterdam, the event is due to attract industry professionals from both North America as well as across the globe to network and do business.
After two successful years at the RIO Hotel and Convention Center, show organisers have announced that the event will be returning to the Las Vegas Strip for its 2016 edition. On October 29 – 30, the remanufacturing trade show will take up residence in the popular Paris Hotel.
Changes in concept
The move back to the Strip is accompanied by a change to the show concept. The duration of the show will move from three days to two, after extensive research has been carried out amongst visitors and exhibitors. The two days will offer extended opening hours, providing exhibitors and visitors the opportunity for doing quick and fast business.
"Big R/ReMaTecUSA is the largest dedicated show to the remanufacturing industry in North America,” explains Joe Kripli, APRA President. “But we also understand that our exhibitors and attendees have multiple product and customer portfolios as they continue their week with the AAPEX and SEMA Shows. Moving to two days allows for a complete week of customer and exhibitor interaction, networking, buying and selling from reman to distributor to retail."
Attendees to the show with a conference pass can join the sessions of the APRA seminar program, which will bring the latest developments in the industry, technical workshops and educational sessions.
A hot topic is found in 3D printing. Like science fiction a few years ago, but rapidly becoming a reality, also for remanufacturers. The ability to print component parts will allow companies to remanufacture parts even if component parts are unavailable. It may also allow remanufacturers to print component parts on demand to decrease inventory costs or make short run remanufacturing projects profitable.
E-Commerce will be on the agenda too – as will more technical sessions on mechatronics, start-stop systems and turbochargers. Cleaning technology, being a vital part of all remanufacturing operations will also feature on the program as will APRA’s annual Electrical Clinic. The full program can be viewed here.
The 2015 show attracted nearly 30% new exhibitors, offering attendees an even greater variety of reman products and industry segments. “All of the first-time exhibitors were surprised at how well the show was attended and the remanufacturing focused audience,” said Joe Kripli, APRA President. For the 2016 edition of the show organisers are expecting over 100 exhibitors to take part.
Amongst those already signed up are noted players like Wagner Alternators and Suppliers, Romaine Electric, Melett Ltd, WAI Global, HC-Cargo, Goldfarb & Associates Inc., The Recycler Core Company, Pos Service Holland and many others.
“We’ve been very happy to see attendance growing over the past couple of years, and especially the increase in OEMs visiting the show is to us a clear indication that the industry is doing well and we are reaching the breadth of companies involved in remanufacturing,” said Niels Klarenbeek, Manager ReMaTec. “For this year we are hoping for an equally successful turnout, and looking at the current educational program as well as the list of exhibiting companies that will be showcasing their products, I don’t expect anything else.”
As in previous years, Big R/ReMaTecUSA will be co-locating with ATRA’s Powertrain EXPO. This year, for the first time the two events will be taking place in the same ballroom, on October 29. Powertrain EXPO starts on October 27, and Big R/ReMaTecUSA will continue on until Sunday October 30.
