The development of battery electric cars brings with it many innovations in the automotive landscape, both in terms of market, and industrial impact, but even more in terms of new technological contents. An electric vehicle sees in its beating heart, the battery, the central and breaking element with respect to the ICVs. The battery is also the most expensive and complex component of an EV.

Electric vehicles are the new dimension of automotive. The whole world sees battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs) as the solution to the abatement of pollution caused by emissions due to internal combustion engine cars. But is it really like that? There are still many questions open.

The webinar on 27 September titled, “Impact and Opportunities of Electrical Vehicles (EVs) for the Remanufacturing Industry”,  was very successful. It was very well attended with many people registering pertinent questions. Fernand Weiland summarises and shares the most important questions raised at the webinar, based on the answers given by the experts.

The remanufacturing industry is missing a massive opportunity!

In recent years the boom and spread of electric vehicles has been necessary mainly to deal with the pollution caused by emissions of endothermic motor vehicles (ICEVs) - petrol but even more so, diesel. Although the technology in recent decades has significantly improved the performance of endothermic engines, both in terms of consumption but above all of harmful emissions, in July 2022 the European Parliament decided to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars as of 2035, speeding up Europe’s shift towards electric vehicles (EVs).
