New brand classifications for Hitachi spare parts: genuine, selected and remanufactured

HITACHI Construction Machinery Co. Ltd have reorganised the brand classifications of their aftermarket parts by co-ordinating the company’s Parts and Service business and the Parts Remanufacturing business. Hitachi aims to deepen and expand their customer lifecycle by contributing to lowering the “life cycle cost” of machines.

Three new brand classifications – ‘Genuine Parts’, ‘Selected Parts’ and ‘Remanufactured Parts’ – will be used by all Hitachi Construction Machinery Group companies throughout the world to meet the different needs of customers. A global parts supply channel has been established to supply the quality parts, with Hitachi Construction Machinery warranty, under the different brands.

Customers will be able to select parts from the brand which best meets their application, future plans and budgetary needs.

  • Genuine Parts (Hitachi Construction Machinery Genuine Parts) are identical to those used on brand-new machines and meet the quality assurance standard of the Hitachi Construction Machinery Group. The warranty term is 12 months from the date of installation or purchase.
  • Selected Parts (Hitachi Construction Machinery Selected Parts) are industry-standard alternatives produced by suppliers that have been certified by Hitachi Construction Machinery. These are supplied at a lower cost but come with the same warranty as Genuine Parts.
  • Remanufactured Parts (Hitachi Construction Machinery Remanufactured Parts) are used components, such as hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders, travel devices etc, that have been collected, disassembled and reconditioned at Hitachi Construction Machinery Group manufacturing plants. The parts are rebuilt to Hitachi specifications and come with the same warranty as Genuine Parts but at 50–70% of the cost.

Curbing CO2 emissions through remanufacturing
Hitachi, who have been developing new technologies to determine the remaining life and re-usability of parts, to reassure customers about continual use of their machines, say that through their parts remanufacturing business, they will continue to contribute to reducing their environmental footprint, including curbing CO2 emissions and creating a circular-type society by reducing industrial waste.

Hitachi Construction Machinery plan to start supplying parts under the new brand classifications in January 2021.
