MERA to host Additive Manufacturing conference
- July 12, 2015
Additive manufacturing - including 3D printing – will be of very significant interest for automotive and HD remanufacturing over the coming years.
To extend the knowledge of this potentially revolutionary technology, MERA will be organizing a conference focused on additive manufacturing at the COBO Convention Center in Detroit on July 23. Named "Additive manufacturing – The new Frontier", the event will feature presentations by Cummins, Detroit Diesel, DM3D, ERC and other reman experts with particular focus on thermal spraying, laser deposition, and 3D printing.
"The event will offer attendees an in-depth look at additive manufacturing technologies utilized in the remanufacturing industry," MERA promises.
One keynote speaker is Dr. Sanjay Sampath, professor and director of the Center for Thermal Spray Research (CTSR) at Stony Brook University, New York. CTSR is a interdisciplinary industry-university cooperative research center focused on thermal spray materials processing and surface engineering.
Other speakers include Russ Schinzing, President, Electronics Remanufacturing Company LLC, Todd Wieland, Director of Engineering, Cummins Inc. and Doug Wolma, Vice President, Global Aftermarket Operations, Dana Holding Corporation.
