ReMaTec, is the world’s largest biannual remanufacturing show. It is located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and organised by RAI Amsterdam. The exhibition is supported by the leading trade organisations APRA (Auto Parts Remanufacturers Association) and FIRM (Federation of Engine Manufacturers and Rebuilders).
The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) was founded in 1941 by R. A. Van Alen and Harry Lester in Los Angeles. At the first association convention in 1947, Harry Lester was still president and there were just 50 delegates. Over the decades membership has grown to about 1,000 member companies worldwide. At the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association, individuals make the difference. Success depends on a strong member focus, quality service and continuous improvement by volunteers and staff members known for their integrity, caring and initiative.
APRA’s business goes beyond simply meeting member needs. The members of the association work together across job responsibilities, titles and organisational structure in order to share information and expertise. Teamwork brings out the best in APRA.
Founded in 1958 in Vienna, FIRM is a European umbrella organisation representing the interests of engine remanufacturers and rebuilders. Ten national trade associations representing more than 1000 engine remanufacturers and rebuilders are members of FIRM. Based in Brussels, the association is a recognised discussion partner of the European Institutions, fellow associations across the world (AERA, APRA, NZERA, etc.) and other international & European trade federations of automotive sectors. FIRM is a founding member of the World Engine Remanufacturing Council (WERC), is a member of the AFCAR Alliance, and participates in the Right to Repair Campaign Alliance in Europe (R2RC).
