Innovation takes centre stage at Rematec 2015

Wednesday, 10 June 2015

In just a few days RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands will open its doors for the eighth edition of ReMaTec Amsterdam. To promote innovation in the remanufacturing industry, ReMaTec2015 - taking place from 14 until 16 June - introduces the ReMaTec InnovationLAB. The launch of this platform will bring together innovation, trends and industry developments - all in one central area on the show floor.

Designed to enable exhibitors and visitors to share their knowledge and experiences in the field of innovation, it is an inspiring environment where pioneering products and revolutionary ideas are presented.

Innovation is often given as one of the top three reasons to visit an exhibition. "New products have always been an important feature of the ReMaTec shows and the InnovationLAB adds a further dimension to the existing ReMaTec Theatre concept by adding an inspiring physical presence to the show floor where visitors come face-to-face with the latest developments in the industry," explains Niels Klarenbeek, Manager ReMaTec.

The InnovationLAB will be showcasing a selection of brand-new products, submitted by the show’s exhibitors. Companies like Knorr-Bremse, TRW Automotive, Pos Service Holland and Level Seven will be presenting their latest products to the industry.

Dutch remanufacturing company KTB will showcase a unique opportunity in the InnovationLAB to revolutionize the European heavy duty fleet. Two mechanics will be remanufacturing a DAF WS truck engine live on the show floor, upgrading the engine from its original Euro 0 qualification to the stricter European emission standard of Euro IV or even Euro V. "With the remanufactured engine the truck adheres to the stricter European environmental guidelines and in countries like Germany and Poland vehicles are re-certified accordingly," says KTB’s Aart Koning.

The InnovationLAB also incorporates the hugely successful ReMaTec Theatre concept, where workshops and inspiring sessions are given and where industry specialists share their technical knowledge and views on market trends and developments with show visitors. Industry leaders from companies like Schmitz+Krieger, Knorr-Bremse and Melett will be speaking, as well as a variety of other specialists, consultants and researchers.

The Circular Economy Seminar, taking place alongside ReMaTec2015, also has a strong focus on innovation. "The Remanufacturing sector encapsulates the vast possibilities of a circular economy," says Circle Economy CEO Andy Ridley. "When applied it is innovation and pragmatism combined to drive a smarter more efficient and sustainably profitable model. It should be attracting the interest of our best designers, engineers, brands and consumers."

The InnovationLAB is located at the entrance of exhibition hall 10 at RAI Amsterdam. The area will be free access for all visitors to ReMaTec2015. More information, the show programme and the full list of new products can be found on www.rematec.com.
