The most prestigious awards of the industry for best reman business innovation, process optimisation and reman ambassador of the year 2018

Frankfurt, 11 September 2018 - Adam Hill, editor of ReMatecNews has announced the winners of the Remanufcturer of the Year Awards during the award ceremony at Automechanika 2018 hosted by Robarcko B.V.. Judged by a panel of remanufacturing industry experts on a set of criteria the following winners are deemed to lead the industry forward:

Category: Best Reman Process Optimisation
Winner: Autocraft Drivetrain Solutions Ltd.

“For an independent company, it’s a feat to pull this off: it’s pretty remarkable”

The judges were impressed with this example of a positive collaboration with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to create a solution to a key problem – in this case, the remanufacture of cylinder bores – and to keep up with the pace of innovation.

Category: Best Reman Business Innovation
Winner: Shin-Etsu Denso Co

“Business model innovation with 100% focus on customers: the 24-hour order to delivery process and three-year warranty are mega-impressive”

SHINE’s same-day production and no core surcharge are both very attractive. “The 24-hour order to delivery process and the three-year warranty is mega-impressive,” said one judge. The SHINE reman operation is a real example of business process innovation with a strong customer focus, the judging panel thought.

Category: Best Reman Ambassador
Winner: Thijs Jasink, Alec GmbH

“What will make a difference to the reman industry is to have a lot of people like Thijs - he’s a great example”

Being an ambassador for reman is not necessarily about having an official position in the industry – the judges believe that it can also be awarded to someone who is demonstrating passion and commitment for the industry, going beyond their role to do things they don’t have to do in order to benefit the reman as a whole, and communicating the benefits of reman. Thijs Jasink has achieved this.
