Rematec on tour... to Italy
Welcome to our new monthly column at Rematec, where we bring you a unique perspective on the global remanufacturing industry. Each month, one of our local sales agents will take you on a journey to their home country, providing insights into the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the remanufacturing market.
This month, we turn our focus to Italy and welcome Nello Paloni, our dedicated sales consultant in the region.
Could you share some interesting facts and figures about the remanufacturing market in your region, such as its size, potential, and which segments are currently the main focus?
Nello Paloni: The Italian business model of the reman market, sinks its roots in the old Italian motor industry. Companies like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Fiat and Alfa Romeo have written memorable pages of history not only in sports but also in the technical evolution of the automotive sector.
Italy has today a highly focused market on the complete manufacturing of auto and lorry parts often with the challenge of not repairing but bringing them back to new!
The typical Italian propension of seeking excellence in everything you do (the famous made in Italy) will also be found in this sector. This means that remanufacturing today has become an essential part of the entire Italian automotive sector.
What trends and developments do you see in your country and among exhibitors of Rematec?
Nello Paloni: As the former Minister of environment Edo Ronchi said : “A circular economy is key to accelerate the climate transition and increase business competitiveness”.
So, thanks to the internal global growth in this period, Italy is at the top in circularity trends in the EU and Italy ranks first in terms of circularity of production among the top five EU economies.
This is stimulating the “creativity” of many Italian companies; they are actually trying to repeat the success of the "made in Italy story" of the automotive sector into the world of remanufacturing.
Who are interesting exhibitors at ReMaTec Amsterdam to you, and could you share a quote from one?
Nello Paloni: Now, I am lucky to have many fantastic exhibitors from Italy but some key exhibitors that every visitor to Rematec Amsterdam 2024 should know about include Remanauto, FTP and Euroricambi. They're innovators and leaders of the pack!
Why do they choose to exhibit at Rematec Amsterdam? Just listen to what BRAIN had to say: "Rematec is a trade show where I am sure to meet all the visitors who come in."
What else shoud we know about?
Nello Paloni: From 11th to 13th November, Rematec will participate as sponsor at the PARTS AFTERMARKET CONGRESS in Rome. Parts Aftermarket Congress is the most prestigious conference dedicated to the world of aftermarket distribution. The event is organized and promoted by Parts magazine, a leading publication specialized in the automotive after-sales sector for over 45 years.
