Rematec 2025: Where Remanufacturings Future Takes Center Stage
Reman professionals recognize Rematec 2025 as the global hub for the industry, and this year’s event, taking place from 8 - 10 April, feels poised for something extraordinary. Drawing attendees from around the world to RAI Amsterdam, it’s the perfect event to explore cutting-edge trends, innovative business models, and the future of remanufacturing over the next decade. The Rematec Congress and showfloor Theatre content program will deliver top-level knowledge, featuring provocative presentations, timely discussions, and engaging demonstrations—here are some highlights.
Rematec Congress
The Rematec Congress (RMTC) is shaping the future of remanufacturing, bringing together thought leaders and industry experts to analyze key political, business, and economic trends impacting the sector. Featuring cross-sector discussions, the event will explore critical topics such as accelerating the Circular Economy through remanufacturing, the role of AI in robotics and automation, and innovative approaches to battery remanufacturing. This inaugural edition includes deep dives into data-driven challenges, the future of electric vehicles, and groundbreaking EU research on circular designs for sustainable vehicles.
Rematec Showfloor Theatre
The Rematec Theatre will be a focal point on the showfloor, highlighting the Circular Economy as the core of remanufacturing. Industry experts will present demonstrations, share technical knowledge, and lead interactive workshops on key topics such as battery remanufacturing, circular and sustainable vehicle development, and innovations in reverse logistics. Panels will explore advancements in robotics, the Digital Product Passport, and cutting-edge cleaning and testing technologies, offering valuable insights into the latest trends and opportunities. Participating companies and organizations include: Autocraft, AVL DiTest, CoremanNet, Encory, Fraunhofer, Rolls Royce Power Systems, Schaeffler and Valeo.
Roty Awards
The Remanufacturer of the Year (RotY) awards are one of the most prestigious award in remanufacturing. They celebrate outstanding contributions by individuals and businesses to the remanufacturing industry. Since its inception, the award has recognized some of the industry's most distinguished leaders and is widely regarded as a top accolade. In a time when resource conservation, recycling, and environmental responsibility are urgent public concerns, this award emphasizes the substantial commercial and environmental benefits of remanufacturing. The winner will be announced during the official opening ceremony on Tuesday 8 April at the Rematec Theatre.
Battery Corner
The main focus lies in recycling batteries, which means extending the life of the product or component. Jan Koller, Group Manager at Fraunhofer IPA, and Gregor Ohnemüller, Scientific Assistant at Bayreuth University, will give daily presentations and demonstrations about this process, sharing everything you need to know about the housing of a battery.
Innovation Pavilion
Recognizing the growing importance of collaboration with academic institutions, renowned universities such as the Trier University, the University of Strathclyde, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Fraunhofer Research Institute, and Bayreuth University play a crucial role in driving research and development within the remanufacturing sector. Uniting academia and industry at the event enables us to stay at the forefront of innovation and elevate the industry to new heights.
Masterclasses
The Rematec Masterclasses 2025 will expand on the success of its 2023 debut, where students tackled critical remanufacturing challenges. This unique program bridges academia and industry, enabling students from different Universities and Colleges to work on practical cases while offering companies innovative solutions. The 2025 edition will emphasize real-world impact, fostering collaboration through masterclasses, mentorship, and 30 students working on project showcases.
New Showfloor Activities
Rematec 2025 will introduce several exciting new activities on the showfloor. These include ECO circular cars, such as the Hydrogen Race Car (powered by hydrogen) and the Eco-runner (powered by alternative fuels) from TU Delft, as well as the Phoenix car, an electric vehicle made from 75% recycled materials, from TU Eindhoven. The Sustainability Area will feature an EV Experience and two charging stations.
A "Battery Journey" will showcase a sustainable future through battery recycling and reuse. By addressing micro mobility, one of the fastest-growing trends in the market, this exhibit complements the Battery Corner’s focus on automotive applications. Attendees will gain insights into the diverse applications of lithium-ion batteries, including Battery Repair, Storage & Logistics, Eco-Engineering, and Second-Life Cells & Modules.
