Is a 90% cut in emission by 2050 feasible? In December 2020 the European Commission stated an ambitious goal to have at least 30 million zero emission cars on the road across the European Union by 2030 and 90% by 2050. In the opening panel at Rematec Live & Connected on 20 May 2021 the European Mobility Strategy will be reviewed by Eric-Mark Huitema, Director General of ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association and Janez Potočnik, former European Commissioner for the Environment.
"A transition to a more sustainable economy and society is unavoidable. Exploring and realising the potential of value retention approaches, including remanufacturing of the products, is vital for the transition to happen in reality," says Janez Potočnik.
Looking at the present: what about the differences in remanufacturing in Europe, the USA, China and India. Different markets, different remanufacturing statuses. What can the different markets learn from each other? This is discussed amongst a panel of experts. Questions from the virtual audience are answered and the expert panel consisting of Ian Buxcey (Europe), John Chalifoux (USA), Rajiv Ramchandra (India) and Simon Ding (China) are open to answer any questions regarding these markets.
